Lebara for SIM only deal?
Anyone used them.
Reading google reviews, threads on MSE so far it seems a lot of delighted customers along with a few horror stories. Which is perhaps not unusual for any organisation. Just feeling a bit wary.
For the record I currently have 4 people on the following Plusnet deal:
500 MB / 500 Minutes / 5000 texts for £4.18 a month
The Lebara deal I am looking at is:
2 GB / Unlimited /Unlimited for £5 a month
But trying to balance good deal with good customer service / hassle free switch and billing.

Re: Lebara for SIM only deal?
I got the Lebara deal for my youngest's first SIM. We have had no issues with it.

Do they have a decent app, is it easy to track calls/useage?

Well it's a Vodafone MVNO (mobile virtual network operator). It doesn't belong to Vodafone, in the same way that, say, VOXI does.

I haven't tried the app, so I can only point at the 4.6 rating in the app store.

I'm going for one initially (me) to check out the process. If all goes well will do the rest of the family.

Re: Lebara for SIM only deal?
So I got bought one SIM for myself and then had my number ported over.
I have just downloaded the app and logged in.
All seems to work pretty well so I am now getting another 3 for the rest of the family.

One user on MSE complained that it didn't auto-renew and they got severely stung. Just in case, check that auto-renew was set up for all your cards.

If you go into the app "My plans" sits right in the middle of the screen saying the plan and then "AUTO RENEW ON"

I also got a £10 credit when I registered.
No idea how I'll spend given 2GB data and unlimited minutes and texts.

Re: Lebara for SIM only deal?
Just to report back that all 4 of us are now on Lebara with the MSE £5 plan and more importantly issue resolution.
First issue I had was that I thought I'd ordered two SIMs for son and daughter but only one turned up after 3/4 days so I'd assumed I'd either got distracted or screwed up the second one. I should have checked my CC statement and then I would have seen two payments out but anyway I ordered another. Then two turned up on one day for my daughter. I used the online chat facility to get resolved without any issue. Second order cancelled and refund to my account in short time.
Then on Wednesday my daughter said she was unable to make calls or use data. Checked and it turns out the plan wasn't set up on her account. The £10 credit had been mopped up using data and as I have no auto top up set on her account there was no credit available. So I again went on to the help chat facility. Short wait and then a couple of security questions, also had to provide payment reference (sent in an email on set up). Then it was also sorted out efficiently and quickly. Plan was added, £10 credit was reinstalled.
One thing I also like is that you can have a transcript of the online chat emailed to you so if there is any dispute/issues or you just forget you can check later.
So hats off to Lebara - good service so far.

Re: Lebara for SIM only deal?
What size SIM card do Lebara send out?
I need a mini SIM for my 2G Nokia 105, so I'm presuming they send a SIM with all the options available, Mini (standard), Micro, Nano and you snap off the bits accordingly for micro/nano?
TIA

That is correct - all options, snap out as required.

Re: Lebara for SIM only deal?
I am thinking of perhaps porting my number to Lebara, as their pricing does seem good value. What has been your experience with them, several months later?
I have seen mixed reviews/comments online, with some people having had account problems (and poor help from customer support) and at least a couple of days of problematic network availability? (I'm always slightly concerned that if a cell/the network is nearing capacity, it'll probably be the MVNO customers that the parent network will boot off first?)

RVF
If you can get Vodafone you can probably get O2 as they share a physical network outside greater London, although the rollout isn't 100% complete

Customer Support was excellent - used them a couple of times.
Had one definite issue with network availability but that was confirmed as an area Vodafone issue.
Had a couple of occasions when I thought my previous o2/Plusnet coverage had been better but 99.9% time it's been fine.
I discovered yesterday I have a mate with Lebara who lives in the sticks and he was very complimentary about his coverage.
