I now have enough experience of using the Nokia 5.3 to offer a verdict. I am very pleased with the phone. It is amazing for £150. My Moto X Play cost twice that on the high street nearly four years ago. I got it a little cheaper by ordering it from Motorola, who shipped it directly from China

The Nokia is much faster than the Moto. It has security updates guaranteed for 3 years. Motorola was very disappointing in that regard, The GPS was fine when I used Google maps as a Sat Nav. I did some test shots with the camera. They were fine. I snapped a good picture on a city street. I easy imported it to Lubuntu via USB, and edited it with DigiKam. The picture was rather dark, so I increased the brightness. The tall buildings were curving outwards (pin cushion distortion), so I corrected for that. Finally, I cropped the picture. I expect that I could do better if I spent more time over it, but the result was very good.

Being a Nokia, my phone has the infamous Nokia ringtone as one the options:

I bought a clear gel case for £4.99 including postage:

I am very pleased with the case, and I expect it will do a good job of protecting the phone. A gel case worked well for me with the Moto.
