My old HP Laserjet has finally given up the ghost, but will be fondly remembered for quality service for over 20 years.
I'm now looking for a replacement that will be able to print colour as well as b&w, ideally capable of 2-sided printing and be connected by either wifi or ethernet. Print volumes are low (<50 pages a month). I'm not worried about printing photo quality images, but a decent image capability would be nice!
Any recommendations or points I should be looking out for?

Re: Colour Laser printer - recommendations?
I recently upgraded to an HP 552dn. This does double sided (which I need for high court trial bundles), but it is probably overkill. The last bundle I did was 800 pages.
I quite like the double sided. I dont know about smaller volume double sided.

Re: Colour Laser printer - recommendations?
My old HP Laserjet colour printer also gave up recently and I have replaced it with a Brother HL-L3230CDW. It does double sided, wifi etc and is excellent.
Brother have consistently come out very well in PC-Pro magazine printer reviews.
My daughter recently needed a colour laser printer but it had to be smaller to fit into the allocated space. She got the HP Colour LaserJet Pro M283fdw Multi-Function Printer. It does double sided but is also a scanner, copier etc.

Re: Colour Laser printer - recommendations?
Some young techy friends, whose views I very much respect, have recently gone for the HP Colour LaserJet Pro M255dw printer, bought at an attractive price from Amazon Warehouse (where it is briefly in stock).
I'm going to join them, but probably buying new.

Re: Colour Laser printer - recommendations?
Thanks all for the suggestions.
John - agreed, your printer looks good but is definitely overkill for my needs!
I can find the Brother toner cartridges at sensible prices, but the HP unit seems to be quite new and has limited supply of compatible suppliers, so running costs (albeit low anyway for my needs) would be better with the Brother.
What are the odds of either the Brother HL-L3230CDW or the HP Colour LaserJet Pro M255dw coming up on a Black Friday deal ?

There have been few discounts on printers for the last few months, I suppose because covid meant lots of people buying printers for home use.

I bought the same machine about a year ago, after my faithful old Dell C1760NW bit the dust, and so far it seems fine. The cartridges are noticeably more expensive than the Dell - presumably because each of the four has a dedicated roller set, whereas the Dell's were just four hoppers full of toner really. But you can get them as compatibles, and mine (from IJT) seem to work flawlessly.
Shop around, anyway. It's rather a shame that the Dells (1250 1250C 1350cnw 1355cn 1355cnw C1760 C1760nw C1765 C1765nf C1765nfw) are no longer made, but if you can snag a low mileage used one on Ebay it might still be a good buy.
