Adblock plus & macOS Big Sur

I started using Adblock plus a few months ago with Safari on my Mac and it did exactly what it said it would do and I was no longer plagued with annoying ads on eg YouTube, TLF and other websites. Great. Except no it's not great, it's seems to have stopped working, and I think it might be since my OS was updated to Big Sur (or maybe I'm putting 2 & 2 together and making 5) anyway, it has definitely stopped working. The YT ads are back and so are others.

Do I need to reinstall, or what?

Adblock plus has been upgraded several times. After downloading upgrade remember to open the downloaded upgrade or it will not install. It will ask to close safari to do so. It is always useful to restart the computer periodically, I am guilty of leaving mine on for a week or 10 days!. Adblock works better after each upgrade on my iMac.
