I'm a satellite TV newbie, having had Virgin cable TV forever.
I've just moved to a house that has a Sky dish, with a dual cable coming from it. I know nothing of its provenance.
I have a flashy LG OLED 4K TV, with a built-in Freesat facility. It has one threaded satellite cable socket on the back, and I have plugged one of the dish's cables into it.
If I go through the satellite autotune process it finds 150+ channels, and populates the programme guide with all the show names etc.
However if I select one of the channels, it gives a "No Signal" message and no picture.
Do I have all the right hardware? Is there a step I'm missing?
Edit: on some channels the error is "Invalid Service".
Scott.

Re: Freesat
Try the TV at an address with a known working dish. Set it up and see what happens. Then try it back at home. If it worked, then didn't, you have a dish issue.
