regular emails now received...as fiollows
from....Microsft Outlook then a small pic of a 'BIN'...then 'Ad' in a square
then subject is...'get the latest premium.....'
I have googled it and it seems many are getting such emails..but noone seems sure about them
also
if you delete...click on the 'BIN'...it disappears, but does not go into 'deleted' bin in my own outlook folders
Is it just another self promoting AD from Microsoft?? or is it a worry??

Re: Microsft Outlook...Ad..or scam?
If you're talking about at the top of the inbox in Outlook.com (webmail) it's an ad. They're annoying...
You can block them in uBlock Origin by right clicking on the inbox ad and selecting 'block element' and then using the cross hairs to select the ad. - enter to save.
uBlock Origin will then block the script that is serving the ad and you'll get a slight gap at the top of the inbox where the ad would otherwise be.

many thanks
the 'ad' came again twice yesterday so my efforts at blocking clearly failed
however, now that I have a tutorial....
(dare I say..I look forward to the 'ad' repeating!¬!)

Re: Microsft Outlook...Ad..or scam?
Microsoft are normally very open about their third-party advertising, but this one appears to have crept in without warning.
They are quite entitled to advertise in outlook.com - it is one of the conditions of use - but why worry users unnecessarily?
Is is one thing for MSFT to send me a real advertising email, whether of their products or third-party ones, but another thing altogether for the 'email' not behave as real email would.
