Help! Autocorrect in WhatsApp??

#515905

Postby stevensfo » July 20th, 2022, 9:56 am

I have an android phone for spare and have started using a new WhatsApp account for when I travel.

Everything is fine, except for the &%$£!!! auto correct. I think that disabling this annoying little monstrosity was the first thing I did many years ago. I do not require any help with spelling, and when typing in foreign names, it is the biggest pain in the proverbial!

Can I do this via the WhatsApp menu or do I have to go into the phone settings?

Many thanks for advice.

Steve

Thanks. I'd forgotten that I cannot do this via WhatsApp. I have now checked the keyboard in Settings and have turned off every one of those annoying buttons, including autocorrect.

Steve

PS Even worse is the dreaded predictive text. I had an uncle who once threw his iphone across the room and broke it because he couldn't switch the damn thing off! He was a retired headmaster and not used to being talked back to. Especially by a phone! 8-)
