I've got an HTC Android phone. For some reason, when drafting texts there is no longer an automatic capital letter at the start of a new sentence. With emails or Whatsapp messages there's no problem so it's not a general auto-capitalisation problem.
I've Googled but can't find the solution, can anyone help? I'm hoping this board lives up to the standard of its TMF predecessor and does supply the answer!
Regards,
Leither.

Re: Capitalisation in texts
On my Android phone it's under Language & Input/Android Keyboard/Preferences/Auto-capitalisation.

Re: Capitalisation in texts
A quick Google shows a) that option has been there for some time, and b) the default of 'no capitalisation' has been catching users out for years - like this one from more than a year ago...

Re: Capitalisation in texts
Thanks folks but As I said in my OP, auto-capitalisation isn't the issue as it works fine in emails and Whatsapp messages. Only texts are the problem.

Re: Capitalisation in texts
It seems HTC has its own messaging app and doesn't use the stock Android one. Does it have any likely looking options in its settings menu?
Alternatively, try switching it off and on again if you haven't done so already.
Scott.

Re: Capitalisation in texts
Hi Scott, I had actually solved it before reading your post but you were on the right lines. I went into the app, pressed Force Stop (with no real idea of what I was doing) then did a restart. Problem solved!
Thanks to all,
