Am having trouble searching and thus finding what I want.
Whatever terms I use such as cylinder, barrel, slug and others does not come up with the goods.
Can someone suggest a proper name????
I am looking for a cylinder that has a key lock at one end. The cylinder gets inserted into a hole and when locked, cannot be removed. Unlocking it lets the whole cylinder slide out and be removed.
Imaging two sliding panels in a cabinet or a drawer in a unit in which the mechanism locks the panels against each other.
In the particular application in mind, it is a drawer where the front has to remain clear and the lock would fit through a hole in the side of the cabinet - bit like a 'secret' locking mechanism.
Needs to be cylindrical for easy drilling!

Re: A lock in a hole
Many thanks for trying to help me define the lock I have in mind.
Amazingly none of the suggestions has come up with an answer.
It is not important but it has become a bit of a challenge!
The annoying thing is that I had reason to use one for over two weeks at a customer's workshop. This was a long time ago and not even the building exists any more.
I guess the nearest one found in the given site is:-
https://www.armstronglocks.com/steel-fu ... k-406.html
but this one does not seem to be fully cylindrical and more importantly, it does not have a bevel at the front so can slip backwards when inserting the key.
Regards.
