New Fish Tank

#279261

Postby AsleepInYorkshire » January 22nd, 2020, 8:16 pm

Daughters Christmas Present - Aquarium

Now established with a couple of fish.

The finish is a cheap "varnish" and the minute water touches it, it marks"

Suggestions for "touching up" the marks?

I'm assuming varnish is not the answer and perhaps something like beeswax?

Thank you

Read the instructions again. The water's supposed to be on the inside.

Classy job, though! I can only think that the varnish must be a thin polyurethane, not the yacht varnish that I'd have used. We've had a kitchen cupboard that was similar. The wife sorted it by applying a generous dose of a proper beeswax polish. (Not the kind you get from a can...) I'm off out now but will check the name.

Liberon's the brand. The current headline product seems to be called Black Bison, which seems like an odd choice of name, but it does say it's good against water marks. It's not actually a beeswax, although Liberon do one of those as well.
