Germany has a gadget called WC Ghost that sternly warns any man who dares to urinate in a WC whilst standing up. The offence even has a name: ‘Stehpinkeln’; steh = stand and pinkeln = a lovely onomatopoeic word for urination and (as pinkel) for a smoked sausage – in this context most apposite.
And slightly off-thread: in North Germany there is a tradition called Kohl- und Pinkel-fahrt in which a small handcart or trolley is filled with pickled cabbage, pinkel sausages and lots of beer and/or schnapps, and a mixed group of youngsters (or older men who should know better!) traipse the streets singing and every so often having a stop for refreshment.

Ah yes, but some Germans have a brutal tradition of policing how you piddle and shaming you for doing it wrong.
(link is Wozzeck act 1 scene 4. The whole story is a nightmare, said to reflect the horror Berg himself experienced in the Trenches).
