On a zoom meeting earlier I noticed what a mess the 'study' was behind me.
Than I remembered the Wickes advert - "Cure your housebarrassment".
A quick visit to their website https://www.wickes.co.uk/online-showroom-tour and 5 mins with the snipping tool and I'd set my background to one of their display kitchens.
As long as you sit in front of the on-screen navigation arrows it is fine

Re: Housebarrassment
The BBC put some of their famous sets up for people to use as webcam backgrounds. Most of my online meetings are with team mates in California so my backdrop of Del Boy’s flat is probably lost on them!

Re: Housebarrassment
I did a business Zoom call yesterday from a tropical forest, with a parrot for company. Only realised later how it must have looked.
Yes, I always bring my potted banana palm into my office for the winter (having chopped it down to six inches first), and it then sprouts three or four feet of growth and many enormous leaves. My small granddaughter had long ago provided the paper parrot, together with Peppa Pig and an upside down cat. Not quite the soberly studious impression I'd been meaning to convey.
I've seen others using a background image on Zoom calls, but they seem to result in flicker and a lot of now-you-see-it, now-you-don't. What I really want is Laura Kuenssberg's live view of the Houses of Parliament. Although maybe Edinburgh Zoo's penguin cam would change the tone of the meeting?

At a Devon Council Committee meeting last week one of the Councillors decided to pop to the Loo, but took her iPad with her. She did hit 'mute', but left the camera on.
The meetings are public and livestreamed and then automatically put up on the County Council website. I gather it was rather quickly taken down and an edited version re-uploaded.
As it didn't make the news, one assumes Council Finance meetings are of limited interest to the public.

What is it about that word "livestreamed" that makes me giggle?

Re: Housebarrassment
Apparently you can now set videos as your background.
One of MrsF's minion has just demonstrated this be setting his PC to record some point yesterday and then walking in and swapping out a cup of tea on the desk.
He then left this running as his background and part way though a meeting tasted his tea, mentioned it was cold, and then appeared to bring himself a replacement.
