Isn't that what distinguishes you from softie southerners?

Very amateurish. In those circumstances shirts can rip....once.

Do it properly, get hold of the back of his trousers and belt.

The problem is that he is not wearing his grey safety tie - if he was, he would be ok!

An effete southerner. In the Rugby League counties he would need one hand only to drill, to leave the other hand free for a pint glass and a Capstan Full Strength.

They don't need safety hats. It is the people on the ground who need them in case that wall falls on their heads.

Any experienced tradesman will tell you that one of the most important aspects of working at height is to *always* maintain at least three points of contact....

This is how real men did it and I doubt many actually died...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cxzSFBzpWI

Watching the latest DIY offering from the BBC 'Jay and Dom's home Fix' and the regular dire warning that everything can kill you, I doubt, sadly, that many will be taking up the tools again, as most of us did several decades ago. They now prefer to pay £30 > £40,000 extra and have it all done for them!

If you find the 'Lunch atop a skyscraper' photo scary, just don't watch this video of climbing a radio tower.

That is just crazy, can you imagine any TV presenter being allowed to do that! Wow!

I love the bit at the beginning where John asks casually "How's the ladders fixed on?"

And the answer comes back "Yeah they're roped quite firmly around the column itself, and they're a bit... very secure, like, y'know", reassuringly.

Holy flaming mackerel. He certainly has some balls to do that. I was wincing all the way through it. C.
