You get what you pay for

Many of the bricklayers who work in the construction trade are paid for what they lay, not the hours it takes them. It's a great incentive if they also provide the quality.

Can I share this small clip with you please.

This provides a great example of "paying for laying" and this particular bricklayer does get lots of repeat business.

When I were a lad, builders used to strip to the waist in hot weather.

The most surprising part is what looks to be the horizontal string line which is just visible half way up the wall.

A couple of years ago, we stayed in an AirBnB down in Sussex which had a fifty foot long wonky brick wall, all very artfully contrived. And just a half brick thick, with the wind whistling through the gaps. A good joke, but I wonder if it's still there?

Post-ironic structural abstractionism, innit?

Although, come to think of it, a couple of structural iron posts might have been a better idea. ;)

It's the sort of wall that I might commission if I had been forced to erect one by an annoying neighbour. 8-)
