There is nothing to prevent me making any of those dates, except that I don't work in London any more, so I will just decide when you've chosen a date, depending on my workload and location on the day.

Maybe. I'll see what date folk settle on and take it from there.

Unfortunately 16th is not on for me, as I have a dinner at the Haberdashers Hall, but I shall be in the Bishop's Finger in West Smithfield from 6 until 7.

Infinitely preferable to the other way around.

Can I just say that out of all our obtuse ways of arriving at a date for a social this is the most entertaining?

So what would be the normal way?
Keep me posted. I've negotiated a pass for the evening of 16th November, but could probably do some of the others.

I (arbitrarily) chose today as the poll end date, so shall we go with Friday 16th November?
I haven't checked for train strikes etc, but the only recent trouble has been SWT - and they did run a reduced service

I will put together the usual announcement tomorrow* -work permitting- and ask the estimable Stooz and Clariman to 'pin' it (and un-pin the poll..)

*unless someone else wants to volunteer ?

Apologies from me, as I indicated above, as I shall be in the Bishop's Finger from 6 to 7 that evening, prior to a dinner nearby. That's another pub which is very busy on a Friday night, especially when the best part of a hundred penguin suited former schoolboys descend on it.
