Raising Awareness.

The Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) are, this week, raising awareness of the need for robust viable support for those amongst us who, very sadly, have been diagnosed with MND. MND cannot be cured. Its symptoms are progressive. The links below to MNDA's website detail what they would like all Local Authorities to achieve to support those diagnosed with MND so that they may live independently and with dignity in their own homes.

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Act to Adapt Action Week 03-04 to 07-04
The Act to Adapt campaign is calling on councils in England to use their discretionary powers to ensure that they are meeting the needs of people living with MND in relation to accessible housing.

Act to Adapt
Everyone with MND should be able to live in a safe and accessible home, without long delays and high costs.

Many thanks @AiY
fortunately as some with MND I am fine at the moment so do not require any outside help (at the moment)
Thank you to all the fools who took time to add thanks and also post on my MND thread

that cheered me up after the initial diagnosis, as you do feel like a bit like billy-no-mates ;)
There are only approx 5k people in the UK with MND and your chance of catching it is 0.3%

Those figures seem wrong to me. 5k/0.003 is only 1.7m.
And not being a contagious disease, I’d avoid using “catching” - but I jnow what you mean.

Ah, understand now. Hmm (that would’ve started with an “f” but it’d get lemon-fooled). Not good.
