It seems HMG have abandoned the 'probate tax' which could have been up to £20k on larger estates.
The flat rate 'fee' is being retained but increased to £273 from January 26th

Good news. If only professional executors would adopt a flat fee basis rather than the totally unjustified percentage of assets basis.
