Accrued in an ISA

#234286

Postby 88V8 » July 5th, 2019, 6:59 pm

Bought some Co-op 42TE today.
About £10,000 worth.
OH did the same. But the accrued has resulted in her ISA account going a couple of hundred into debit.

It's fully subscribed so she can't put in more funds. Shortly a divi will be along to erase the deficit, but meanwhile?
Anyone else encountered this situation?

Nice to have an accommodating broker. Most (if not all) platforms simply won't allow the trade to complete if the total cost is not covered by cleared funds.

It's happened to me a few times, but only for quite small amounts, usually because broker has charged their quarterly fees to an account with no funds.
They've never insisted I sell any stock and it's worked out eventually.

42TE - nice one to hold IMHO.

Had similar once with selftrade , they were on to it quickly and were trying to cancel trade , fortunately similar I had a divi due within a couple of days and manage to spin it out with correspondence , but they were not enthusiastic , it was Selftrade for info . On one stock at least The boi 13s they still fail to calculate it on a trade which will still execute .
