Never heard of him before, a friend sent me this link https://youtu.be/ViY-zI3b5JQ
Awesome interview, and very pertinent to this board ~33 minutes in. Which is where I’m currently up to… yes, it’s long.

Re: Gary Stevenson
Interesting. I'm part way through. I'm a bit frustrated with it though because he keeps saying all the covid money ended up going to the rich but he hasn't explained how that happened.

Of course he is right. The richest in society always get richer at the expense of the rest of society. The question is what is to be done about it? And do any of the possible parties of Government, whether on the so called left or right, really want to do anything about it? Obviously not.
Whoever gets in to power, the richest always get richer at the expense of the rest. The whole system, whatever it is called, capitalism, democratism, socialism, or communism, is always controlled by the richest, and for the richest.

Yes agreed, I've listened to this. It's a shame we don't have politicians willing to speak the truth in this way.
Not sure why this is on the Gilts 'n' Bonds board.

Perhaps someone can move it to “The Economy” or “Current Affairs” ?
Re: Gary Stevenson
I have seen an interview with him recently (FT I think).
East End boy, ended up being the top trader for - uhm, from memory Citi but it was a little while ago.
Easily Googled I am sure but I have saved you the trouble.

Re: Gary Stevenson
I think it was the Martin Sandbu piece on wealth tax in the FT online.
It might still be out there.

Because at the point I mentioned, he was taking about gilts & bonds, and it was at that point I thought of posting it to TLF.
