Which Gov Bonds for portfolio

#626286

Postby moneybagz » November 9th, 2023, 1:07 am

With a recession due very soon, I'm now moving some cash out of money markets into government bonds but unsure which etf's to buy. I'm attempted to diversify my UK bond holdings with either US or Global.

I was considering:

50% IGLT iShares Core UK Gilts (8.3 year duration) TER 0.07%

combined with 50%, either:

IGTM iShares $ Treasury Bond 7-10yr (7.3 year duration) TER 0.10%
IGLH iShares Global Govt Bond (7.1 year duration) TER 0.25%

I was leaning towards IGLT combined with IGTM due to the lower charges.

These will be held within SIPP or LISA. I'd be grateful for any advice.

Many Thanks

...Thinking about adding some TIPS too:

ITPG iShares $ TIPS TER 0.12% (6.7 year duration) or
TI5G iShares $ TIPS 0-5 TER 0.12% (2.4 year duration)
