How can I find what percentage of an Investment Trust portfolio is in unlisted companies ?

Having found all the companies they invest in, will I have to search each in e.g. Morningstar to see if those companies are listed or not ?

I imagine the most efficient way is to go to the IT's own webpage or download their latest results.
For example, Scottish Mortgage breakdown can be found here:
https://www.scottishmortgage.com/en/uk/individual-investors/holdings where there's a pdf handily split into listed and unlisted.

This idea doesn't sound efficient or accurate. As said its probably individual literature that will help you. Here is some data I pulled out last month for a different reason regarding equity funds and unlisted holdings. Sorry about formatting, haven't worked that out yet. But I have done it in top to bottom order for ease. Obviously doesn't include Private Equity funds as I assume that is not what you are getting at

We will be adding percentage in unlisted holdings for equity investment companies to the portfolio page soon. It is based on what they have reported and there is no obligation to report so it will be caveated to that effect.
