Vietnam focused IT's

I came across this AIC article, with various trust managers view on Vietnam as an investment:
With half of its population under the age of 35 and a rapidly expanding middle class, Vietnam is one of the most dynamic frontier economies. It has also been a COVID-19 success story registering just 35 deaths from 1,168 cases. The effectiveness of its short lockdown meant Vietnam began reopening as long ago as April and the Vietnamese economy is forecast to grow in 2020 despite the pandemic.

I have a small holding in VOF. (VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund). Yield: 2.6%. Disc to NAV: 21.9%

Moneyweek has been banging on about buying into Vietnam for a long time now and is on my to do list. However, I have only excess income to invest and my last purchase a month ago was Fidelity China Sp. Sits.

It looks like Bankers investment trust has taken a small piece of Vietnam:

I like that it pays a reasonable dividend while I wait for capital appreciation to arrive. It does of course, hold Vietnam.

RVF

============================

it holds around 7% in vietnam.

also holds south america, saudi , africa etc .

charges quite high at 1.39.

Thanks for that, interesting read especially the pay differential with China. I hold a very small number of Vina as a compliment to the other Asia/Pacific funds now held in my SIPP (Aberdeen Asian, Aberdeen New Thai, Fidelity China, Hend Far East Inc, JPM Emerge, JPM Indian and Schroeder Oriental) and had intended to increase the holding somewhat by either using the next 12 months dividends or selling out my three remaining individual company shares as I complete my migration to ITs and nothing but ITs.

Edison review on Vietnam Enterprise trust (VEIL):
The last quarter of 2019 and most of 2020 marked a period of portfolio repositioning for the fund. VEIL is well positioned for longer-term investors looking for an exposure to the fast-developing Vietnamese economy via a relatively large and liquid listed equities fund.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, VEIL's team focused the portfolio (reducing the number of holdings from 41 in 2019 to 28 by end-2020) to leverage high conviction holdings and address a dip in short-term performance. We believe VEIL's improved relative performance is likely to continue as the transformed portfolio is overweight in the sectors that could deliver long-term capital growth, including banking, real estate, logistics and retail. In addition, VEIL is well positioned for the economic recovery in Vietnam. Dragon Capital continues to pursue investment opportunities, by investing in listed companies and capturing three mega trends in Vietnam: infrastructure development and urbanisation, middle-class formation and increasing penetration of financial services.

I hold VOF in that sector.
