Re: Price of Merchant's IT on a given date?
After some digging, I have obtained the following historical data, admittedly only a snapshot but still intriguing.
4 Jan 2000
FTSE - 6662.9
MRCH - 386
4 Jan 2016
FTSE 6093.4
MRCH - 425
If those data are indicative of the general trend then MRCH has exceeded the FTSE100 plus paid considerably higher dividends than an ETF tracker such as ISF.
FTSE has dropped 8.5% whilst MRCH has risen 10% so MRCH is up 18.5% on FTSE over this 16 year period.

No, on those figures MRCH is up 20.2% over the FTSE.
£1 in MRCH at the start would now be worth £1.10
£1 in FTSE at the start would now be worth £0.915
1.10/0.915 = 1.202

For anyone interested in where these historical price details are available on Yahoo Finance, here's a link to the above figures for Merchants on 7th November 2005.
