I don't listen to many commentators, let alone fund managers, but listening to the FGT AGM call from 17th Feb is well worth 50 minutes of any investors time IMHO:

Thanks Si. I heartily endorse that. Nick Train was good, very relaxed, informative and clearly well on top of his brief.

FGT is one of those collective investments (along with Fundsmith) where I frequently ask myself why I don't just go all in rather than invest on my own account, especially as I have personal holdings in seven of the FGT portfolio companies and currently considering adding an eighth (Experian) for my SIPP. I think one day I probably will, but not just yet.

I have held FGT for some years because I like Nick Train's style. I hold Unilever, Diageo and maybe another of its holdings directly but like to get some of his other picks as well. I used to hold P Z Cussons but sold when its Nigeria problems blew up. Interested to see how it goes again.

Si,
You are aware of the potential lawsuit against Experian, no doubt?

Yes, but thanks for pointing it out. I'm still in the early stages of researching Experian and Equifax (the latter held by Smithson). I'm not that familiar with the sector they operate in, so I'm a long way from pulling the trigger. As mentioned by a question that Nick Train responded to during the AGM call, another major potential issue is a possible clampdown by the Biden administration on the credit agencies. TBH I only started to get interested when Experian popped up on my current favourite "Negative Relative Strength" filter at the end of last week. That doesn't normally happen for a good reason, as it's a contrarian approach by nature, and in the past 6 months Experian has underperformed the market by 27%.

Experian and Equifax : Ah, I see that it is discussed at 36/37minutes into the review.

LSEG took a bit of a bashing today...were the results that bad ( I don't think they were bad at all!)?
