Re: Edinburgh Investment Trust (EDIN) - Final Results
This Trust has changed managers of course and although we have seen a good recovery in NAV it is still below where it was pre the pandemic. The special dividend which is being proposed is clearly a sop to shareholders so as to leave the dividend where it was in the previous year, and at the same time to leave the company with the flexibility to reduce the actual payout for the new year. They have already rebased their dividend.
As for the new managers? I think we cannot really judge them on the year 2020/21 in the midst of a pandemic. After being a long time shareholder I finally gave up on them at the time they were appointing new managers and see no reason to have any regrets.
Holders should of course look at the Annual Report, available on the website.

Did you sign off there with off with a witty play on Dude or was it simply a typo
I have held EDIN since the change in management. I’m up around 17% and have been satisfied. It’s done a job for me in capturing rebound in the UK market with a decent slice of dividend income thrown in. I don’t mind them messing with the dividend if the capital appreciation continues.
