3i investment trust
Does anyone here have a stake in this investment trust? And if so, what do you make of it? I am pondering a modest investment after selling by holdings in Edinburgh Worldwide (dog) and Abrdn Uk Smaller Companies trusts (running out of steam and dividends). I already hold shares in two other private equity ITs: HG Capital and Abrdn Private Equity Opportunities but I have some headroom in my portfolio to top up that niche sector whose attraction has been good capital growth and fast rising dividends.

Re: 3i investment trust
VERY large holding in a single company...strikes me as " adventurous". See page 51/52 of their annual report. I've not worked it out from their report but Hargreaves suggests that half the assets are in a company called " Action" ( retail). Obviously, best to confirm via the companies annual report.

Citywire flagged 3i up a week or so ago when the shareprice tumbled and 3i moved to a discount on NAV.
On the other hand.....
3i's long term record (10 years) looks impressive.
I'm interested....but lacking funds!
I'd worry though about having half the assets in 1 company but then again, 3i would probably be a small percentage of one's personal portfolio.

"Action": Big in Belgium. Yes, I know that that's usually a put-down, but TBH their stores are always rammed. They're sort of like Woolworths used to be...

Even bigger in the Netherlands - think of a messy version of Wilko if you want a current comparison
