Has anyone been to one of these events and what was your opinion?

Not an AIC one. I went to a similar-ish but smaller one, with several IT managers talking, run by Shares magazine/AJ Bell some years ago. Ho hum, everything said was more or less what you'd expect to hear ... although I did leave with a tot bag with some branded pens, a couple of branded flash drives, and a free copy of Andy Bell's book.

Still, looks like it might have some bits of interest, and I see you can attend online, which makes it easier to just drop in on selective talks. It doesn't say if there'll be free nosh and drink provided, which could be one reason for going there physically ...

It will only be the second time this event has been held. The first was last October. Lots of informative speakers and panels, three different rooms (sessions timed to coincide) so you could pick and choose topics of interest. Lots of stands to get free pencils and the pièce de résistance - I (or my colleague who runs the website) will be on hand to demo, answer technical questions, and take feedback on any of the website or website tools content and functionality.

I joined using the livestream over the internet from home
I sat in on the panel discussions and keynote speeches all day. Intensive day but I got the thematic message and have a personal interest follow up resulting from the Q&A with Rhys Davies and two cohorts
Nick Robinson at the end was great, a tenuous link to investing but enjoyed his talk very much.

Good show. I didn't get to see any of the presenters in any of the three rooms as was manning the website demo stand the whole day!
