Ditto. I believe it was ahead of benchmark over a 20 year period, but only just. I suspect there was significant outperformance in the 2000s and then not in the 2010s.

I have held MYI since the early 2000's. The dividend was only held for about 3 years just after I bought them so no out performance there. They have since been bed and isa'd and bed and spoused so although I will have the exact dates somewhere, it would take a search but the info must be available on line.

I hold MYI. It's dividend is good, but capital performance less so.

I used to think MYI was my international pick of choice until I found global trackers.
Although they have been giving me 4% income on my investment the actual dividend amount only inches up a few percent each year and the capital less so.

It is good to see MYI's dividend growth accelerating somewhat. The final dividend for 2023, payable in May 2024, was increased 7.5 percent. Now, the first interim for 2024 is up 4.2 percent and this is likely to be the case for the other interims. This will be the first time in several years that dividend growth has been above inflation and this will start to claw back the gap which opened up in real terms between the dividend per share and the growth in prices.

As a holder since 2012, the dividend per share CAGR in real terms has been 0%. The recent bout of inflation in 2021-23 wiped out the modest real terms growth over that period.

I have it as a core global holding but supplement it with growthier investments, such as MasterCard which has exhibited very strong dividend growth.

Best wishes

Let me correct that, it's now 3.3 percent a year CAGR in dividends, which equates to 0.4 percent a year CAGR on an after-inflation basis. I think Nick Train said annual real CAGR in dividends for the US market was 1.5 percent over many decades, so this is not a great performance.

Including dividends, MYI has almost doubled in that time, but it has had a torrid 2010s. It shone in the 2000s and so the 20 year total return figures are better.

Best wishes

Just lurking (I held Murray International in the dim and distant past, but not at present).
The Chronic Investor on Friday (19 April 2024) listed MYI as a Buy in their "Ideas Investment Trusts" section.

They've moved the timing about quite a bit. Last year, it was brought forward for some reason and the final dividend was paid much earlier in May. MYI's final dividend on its own accounts for 1/8th of my entire portfolio's dividend income!

Best wishes
