Merger of Shires and Aberdeen Smaller Companies.

It is proposed to merge Shires SHRS with the underperforming Aberdeen Smaller Companies ASCI.
Same managers, economies of scale blah blah blah.

These mergers often strike me as a means of obfuscating past poor performance, which I find really irritating, and as far as I can see there is nothing in this for Shires holders.

I hold Shires for their exposure to FI, but looking at their top holdings they are mostly equity, much of which I hold, and their FI is all vanilla stuff I can and do buy myself, so I shall jump ship and leave them to it.
