Investor AB is over 100 years old and a Swedish listed company, which achieved a c. 12 percent average annual investor total return on its shares (listed on the Stockholm exchange) from 1919 to 2015.
Their 100th birthday was met with a report which makes interesting reading. They make all the right noises IMHO. We can see their approach, their portfolio (including some very long term investments) and history over that period:

The SEK is historically weak against the GBP (weakest since c. 2007) and it might be a reasonable entry point. Don't invest on currency speculation, of course, but another factor to consider! I do think so many of us UK investors have home bias and this is essentially a Swedish investment trust which could be held for the long term.
The dividend yield is over 2 percent but that is gross and so your net yield will be significantly less due to Swedish dividend taxation. C'est la vie, innit.
