The boards of Henderson European Focus Trust (HEFT) and Henderson EuroTrust (HNE) have announced plans to merge and create the £750m Henderson European Trust. HNE will transfer its assets to HEFT and be liquidated. HNE will offer shareholders a 5% cash exit which HEFT will match with a 5% tender offer.

That's ironic. Only half a year ago, I sold my wife's HNE in a dealing account to get the cash into her ISA. What did I re-purchase? HEFT!
