NASDAQ Trackers
I'm looking at NASDAQ trackers.
This one is London listed, distributing a modest (0.4%) dividend. It would be held in an ISA or SIPP wrapper.
https://www.hl.co.uk/shares/shares-sear ... -ucits-etf
Does anyone have a favourite NASDAQ tracker? If so, why?
Thanks.
best wishes
Mark.

Re: NASDAQ Trackers
I don't hold one but a thing to bear in mind is that the Nasdaq 100 index is skewed towards its ten largest holdings. In fact its top ten holdings represent about 50% of the fund. So one idea is to look for an equal-weighted tracker like QQEQ.
That said I take the opposite approach and hold those top ten holdings (minus Tesla which I can't hold my nose and buy). Those ten are:
Apple
Nvidia
Microsoft
Amazon
Meta
Broadcom
Tesla
Google (2 classes)
Costco

Re: NASDAQ Trackers
Thank you.
Yes, for better or worse.
I have to say, Amazon seems quite tempting.
I had seen equal weighted trackers discussed for the S&P 500 as well. There is some interesting data about relative valuations of the constituent components of the index.
Best wishes
Mark.

Maybe look at holding both a market weighted NASDAQ and equal-weighted one?
I do this with 2 S&P 500 etfs, with the intention of top-slicing one to add to the other. In reality, though, it's not yet been worth it for me but that's probably because I don't have enough in them and I don't monitor them closely enough.

I have held EQQQ as an ISA investment since November 2016 and have been pleased with its performance. The initial investment has grown approx fourfold since then. Topped up in Feb 2023 when it had dipped which was lucky timing! It's grown to around 8% of my portfolio and I'm happy at that level. Also hold a larger holding in a couple of more generalist US etfs as a balance.

I do hope you didn't buy too many EQQQ. I must admit that the situation for the NASDAQ has changed dramatically in the last two weeks. I sold a major part of my holdings this morning because I feared that there may be a major correction for a number of NASDAQ companies. This may be wrong, but in my view the longer term prospects of a number of US defence companies and high tech companies may be damaged by Trump's erratic behaviour. Other countries may be very wary of buying high tech US "stuff" which can be turned off at the whim of a President.
Having been retired for a while I decided to take profits and will recycle into something a little less volatile. Looking at the US markets when they opened later on, I guess many investors took similar actions.

I seem to recall ADrunkenMarcus shied away from EQQQ on the basis of the faff with excess reportable income !

I didn't make any portfolio changes as yet. I'm very happy EQQQ will have declined substantially and I hope it continues!

If it's unwrapped, yes.
