HSBC FTSE All Share ISA tracker dividend

I have just received the dividend and it's nearly 50% down on what I received this time last year. It's actually at least 50% down on what I would have expected this time if it were not for the pandemic.

Interesting. Is there any significance to 'ISA' in the thread title?

That fund pays bi-annually. As such it is more meaningful to look at rolling annual payments. I have in the past noticed wide variations in quarterly ETF payments (DEC compared with previous DEC, etc). Summing of previous 4 payments shows much lower variation. Funds/ETFs make no attempt to smooth out dividend payments. They simply pay out whatever turns up between xd dates, after costs.

I suspect its more to do with individual companies in the all share not paying dividends. The banks for example, this having a knock on effect.

It's not been a good year for those investing in the UK equity market for income, unless like Investment Trust managers, they had mechanisms for smoothing payments or they had stock selections that avoided Companies who cancelled or suspended dividends.
