I usually confine my posts to my annual reviews of my HYP-ish portfolio and my Investment Trusts portfolio; some of you have been kind enough to thank me for them and/or award them some recs.
I didn't post such reviews for 2023 because I had Covid during the Christmas holiday in 2023 and didn't feel like doing anything until well into January 2024.
Then, when I felt like doing something towards the end of January, the back of my head had an argument with the concrete pavement at the rear entrance to a shop in Southampton when I had a blackout while walking to the bus stop to go home. The upshot was that, after a lengthy visit to A&E, I had to surrender my driving licence to DVLA and I am still waiting to have it returned to me. By the time I was feeling better from that I decided the moment had passed for reviews of 2023 so I didn't write any posts about them.
And then, to help round 2024 off properly, 3 days after arriving home from a pleasant autumn holiday in Italy I had a heart attack which I hoped at the time was something else. However, I had to give in to the chest pain and the GP sent me to A&E with notes; a kind neighbour ferried me around for all this. Not too long after I arrived in A&E I was wheeled up to what they called a lab, had some wires shoved up an artery in my right wrist to my heart, and had a clot cleared and a stent inserted.
Since then I have been recovering, though that has plateaued somewhat. I'm simply glad to still be here, and thankful the heart attack didn't happen a week before the operation as I was on step 40 in the Leaning Tower of Pisa at the time.
So no reviews for 2024 either as I simply don't feel up to it right now. And probably never again because my health events in 2024 have forced me to assess my priorities; whether those will change again I do not know.
However, I hope we all have success with our portfolios in 2025.

MDS1951 - your account more or less plays into my own fears of what could be just around the corner.
Sorry to hear you've had such trouble, but it is a salutary reminder to us all to do what we want to do while we can.
All the best, and keep popping in with some wisdom when it seems right.
