Another consideration is the width of the car, which dictates how close the seat is to the door, and further, the depth of the sills also need to be taken into account.
We had a SEAT Ibiza at one time, and Mrs S, who is not as mobile as she once was found the depth of the sill the main issue, the problem being she had to lift her legs over the sills, rather than being able to simply swing them out. And our current Tucson doesn't have this issue, but the seat is quite deep inside the car. Getting out isn't an issue, but getting in is a little challenging, partly, of course because of the height, but mainly because she can only reach the seat squab, then needs to twist round and shuffle into the seat itself once her legs are in the car.
