The troof is the le'er T is obsolee in the middle of words today. Even broadcasters say this year is "twenny twenny one" and who doesn't say " la'er ;wa'er ; opper-chew-nee ; commoony-ee". It's modern pronunciation.

Similarly or not, at the start of words. Although that has been the case for many a year. Think 'Enry 'iggins or Our 'Enry Cooper.
