Does a SORN last for ever or do you have to renew it each year ?

You used to have to renew it every year. But now you don't.

But if everyone did that then these boards would become very quiet. We would lose the art of communication and social engagement.
That Google Glass thing never caught on, at least partly because it discouraged interaction and conversation. And because it made people look weird.

There is a entire board (DAK) devoted to Lemons asking questions of the community that could possibly instead be Googled.
If you are sitting in a pub with a friend, and you have a factual question, do you ask your friend if he knows the answer? Or do you ignore him and instead pull out your phone and google it, thereby avoiding conversation?
So is it lazy to ask someone? Or is it anti-social to talk to your phone instead? To my mind the point of a community is to interact with it. It strikes me as a bit rude to suggest to the OP that he should not be asking such questions here.

I know, it was Paul. Or that is how I took it anyway; perhaps I misjudged his intention with the Google remark.
