BEVs getting cheaper

The Dacia Spring is coming to the UK next year.

Retails under £14k on the continent, although that includes a big subsidy.

SUV styled city car, probably ideal for tip/school/supermarket runs, and probably quite a bit cheaper than the MG4.

Would make a decent 'shopping car'. It get slated on the DM site (doesn't everything ?) as the range is only 150 miles or so and it has a 1 star safety rating. A bit skewed because these days cars are marked down for not having all the electronic bits such as lane assist and auto emergency braking etc. How on earth did we manage before the turn of the century ?

Cheaper.... so cheap that in China they're being thrown away.... skip the ads...
EVs.... so 'green' haha.

And Dacia, at least it's made in Europe not China, but why buy foreign when you could buy British.

I am an advocate of Dacia cars, amazing value for money, getting a new duster in two weeks. Comparing the Spring and MG4:

1 The seats on the Spring are fixed height, so out for the misses.

2 The Spring doesn't do heated seats, so out for the misses.

3 There is a new dual motor MG4 Xpower, 429 BHP, 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds !! So in for the misses !!

4 The MG4 has proven V2L, 2.5 kW continuous (for power cuts, to run the gas boiler electrics)

MG4 is dearer but still amazing value for money, you get what you pay for.

Erm, because it is 3 times the price?

And are those cars in China being "thrown out", or are they waiting to be sold?

If they're like the e-bikes, they've been dumped.

Three times the price maybe, but it will last three times as long.... :)

Those cars are from a failed car share scheme and a lot of them aren't even EVs.
