I think Crossrail was the name of the project, not the line itself, which was eventually named the Elizabeth line.

In particular honouring people who where good at choosing their parents as opposed to people who worked to accomplish something is distasteful.

Yeah, because 2 of those didn't work until they dropped. Liz even made sure she stayed on long enough to see Truss out of the door. If that doesn't warrant recognition then nothing does.
