Common Cranes have returned to NE Scotland in the last few days and will hopefully have another successful breeding season.
I took the photo below in October last year and shows an adult bird with two youngsters. This was the last sighting of the birds as they set out on their migration south.
In September 2020 I was fortunate to capture this distant image of eleven Common Cranes locally, prior to them commencing their migration.
