When we go out to a theme park or a zoo or any other form of family visiting centre we "eat out".

Next time we go we are taking our own knives, forks and spoons and will bring them home.

Plastic Fork Removed From Sea Turtle's Nose

Do we need to look more closely at plastic, its use & subsequent disposal?

I think we do

I am not convinced that the problem is the plastic

its the braindead folk who throw things away and dont dispose of properly or with care

nah it's only the weaker sea creatures that are harmed by waste.

Part of the problem was western countries claiming recycling credit for plastic, by shipping it to places like China where it ended up (together with indigenous waste) in the Yellow River. Plenty of people have been recycling their plastic not realising that it effectively ends up in the sea.

A huge amount of the plastic waste (90% according to this article) in the sea comes from just 10 rivers, all in developing countries

But in many areas that's the majority. Contemplate the debris left behind on popular beaches. The only way to stop plastic pollution is to remove the plastic from the hands of the polluting populace.
We did after all manage without it for several thousand years.

I see that some Councils are resorting to chipped recycling bins to find out who is and is not recycling.
