Asian box moth

Not only a pest of Asian box, but any box.

We had the caterpillars in our garden. I zapped them with a systemic.

From observation, they seem to prefer the lower parts of box bushes, and the older growth, under the protection of the newer shoots, where they are protected from birds, I guess. They were so bad this year I have removed and burnt all my box bushes. I noted a few days ago in a garden centre that there is a pheromone trap now marketed to combat them.
