I was very fortunate to see and photograph a very rare Ross's Gull at Kinnaird Head in NE Scotland yesterday. This gull normally inhabits the Arctic Ocean. Sorry for the picture quality but it was quite a bit out to sea. So privileged to see this.

I think the gull was fortunate to be seen by the one-in-ten-thousand who could recognise it, so its visit was not in vain.
Mentally I divide gulls into those likely to steal my ice cream, and those not.

A great spot, well done and good job getting a photo. Think I saw one on a trip to Svarlbard a few years ago, wonderful place.
