Truly stunning. I never realised that starlings actually follow each other in what are, in effect, long strings. I thought they were all acting independently within the flock.

Oddly enough here in rural Gloucs we have no starlings. Not one.

I believe what you are seeing as "long strings" is actually the same bird time-lapse photo'd many times as it flies.
