Jools Holland's Hootananny

#703147

Postby Dicky99 » December 31st, 2024, 11:52 pm

Last year istr there was discussion that this show is filmed in October which somehow inexplicably spoiled it for me having believed it was going out live.
Just now when Jules was interviewing Jo Brand she said that she's had a lovely Christmas. So what gives? Is she just playing along with the pretence or is it actually live this year?

I believe it's recorded two or three days in advance.

"Jools Holland's Annual Hootenanny isn't filmed live, and was filmed earlier this month."

I realised it wasn't live when the subtitles anticipated what the guests were saying. But let's face it, it could just be a repeat from last year, or from ten, twenty years ago. Is Ruby Turner still featured?

Never been the same since they got rid of Kenneth McKellar and Moira Anderson.

Were they in Jools Holland's band?

I think Moira played sax.

I saw Ruby Turner was in it again and couldn't be rsed to watch it. Went to bed at 11pm. Watching fireworks on the telly doesn't do it for me either.
Enjoyed a dose of Covid over new year, which was nice.
