Sticking with the 'cover' theme, here's one for dual bladded axe fans of one of 60'/70's icon Bob Dylan's biggies from 1973.

If you were to close your eyes during the solo riffs you would be excused from thinking it was Chuck B and Jerry Lee dueting. However it isn't. It's Jeff Lynne and Richard Tandy
There are any amount of videos out there, on uchewb, of ELO performing this track but I selected this version for one particular reason. Well two really. One, I like it and two, on all other versions as far as I can see
Jeff Lynne makes his performance with a GLP whereas on this version he is using what I believe is the only legit
instrument for performing this brand of music. A Fender Telecaster®. Just cock an ear to the initial 8 bars and at 1.30 to get a slice of that twangy muscular punch of a gutsy Telecaster®.
A great performance from the whole combo.

PS. Anyone out there reading this who is in possesion of a Stratocaster® and they want to emulate the sound of a Telecaster® get yourself a Twang Banger® pickup fitted and you'll be there.

PPS. Chuck Berry wrote this song in response to his sister Lucy always using the family piano to play classical music when he wanted to play popular music.
ELO

Jeepers, that is seriously good. And the audio/recording quality is outstanding for a Youtube rendition.
Thanks also to PG for his ELO link, I was into ELO as a youngster back in the early 70s, and haven't thought about them much since. But the recording you linked really has it 'all going on' very sweetly, and it's changed my perspective of Jeff Lynne :)

Sonny Landreth - Sonny Landreth @ Crossroads Guitar Festival 2007

Intense 'southern-style' slide-guitar rock. This was the first track I heard by him and my jaw almost hit the floor. Dixie resurrected! :)

Sonny Landreth with Eric Clapton - Promise Land (Official Live Video)

...and 3 years later he'd duetting with Clapton. Nice tie-up.

Some smooth technical stuff there but after 3 visits to "Überesso" it seems there's some elements of Eric Johnson plagiarism going on. Johnson's studio recording (1988) was awarded a Grammy in1992.

Possibly slightly OT but on one of my regular 'You Tube' sessions recently I listened to the original version of 'Alone Again (Naturally)' by its writer, Gilbert O'Sullivan, and then spent a serious amount of time clicking onto and listening to the myriad of cover versions.

Anyone interested should start with the man himself and perhaps this link, as it shows what a fantastic lyricist he is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-Mjx4WY2xM

Then click away for as longs as you wish listening to cover versions by:
Esther Phillips (classic Philly soul)
Diana Krall
Michael Buble and Diana Krall
Pet Shop Boys and Elton John
Neil Diamond
Nina Simone
John Lennon
Paul Mitchell Trio
Sarah Vaughn
Bobby Darin
Ian Shaw
lots of enthusiastic home recorders...etc.

I happened on this young pixie a few weeks ago. For anyone unaware of her, a maestro she ain't, but she certainly knows how to handle a fiddle. An accomplished musician and performer. When she appeared on one of the US tv talent shows some years ago it was suggested she wasn't marketable and basically told "don't give up your day job". Ha! She's the highest grossing artist on uchewb now. A mention should also go to Devin Graham for his cinematography.

It's hard to believe but it is 29 years today, on what is possibly the eve of independence for Catalonia, since Freddie Mercury's last public performance.

8 October 1988, at the open air 'La Nit' festival in Barcelona, which was staged on the occasion of the arrival of
the Olympic Flag from Seoul.

Here's to the master.

Barcelona What a stunning performance to call it a day.
Great Pretender What a stunning title to describe him.

Exceptional singer.

A bit 'delicate'/hippy-dippy for me. But ironic that the Youtube vid I get to view here abroad is interspersed with ads. The first being a Renault ad to the sound-track of Paranoid by Black Sabbath, which is a cracking and arguably important milestone in rock history
