8.5/10. Stylish Guy Ritchie gangster movie with Hugh Grant and Colin Farrell. Very bad language and some black comedy. Obviously plenty of violence involved, but not really any actual gore on display.
Ritchie takes all the old ideas and set-pieces of gangsters being nasty to other gangsters and manages to serve up a fresh(ish) take with a stylish and different approach to the story-telling. It's the sort of film where you really hope all the characters will lose, but an entertaining romp with lots of twists and turns, even if not all of them are plausible. Lots of scenes which start with lines like "you don't want me to get mad", "just let's do this the easy way" etc. etc. which are then almost invariably followed by considerable amounts of violence, but delivered in an entertaining way, and with good pace and timing.
