Bait

The film deals with the tensions that arise between locals and tourists in a Cornish fishing village.
Filmed in black and white beautiful to look at, amazing textures it had me 'hooked', where there was fishing now the beauty of the place is bait to catch tourists. It plays the class divide and rage to perfection.
If you like CGI and explosions avoid not for you.
Best film I've seen in ages.

Agreed. I put it in my top 3 films of 2019 elsewhere on this board.

I was totally unaware of this film, but thanks to The Guardian comments (something I never thought I’d say!) I was introduced to it and watched it this evening,

It’s brilliant. Quite honestly one of the best films I’ve ever seen. Shot in 16mm in black and white, with dubbed sound, it won’t appeal to everyone, but for those who really love film it’s a masterpiece.

As mentioned, you can watch it with a trial subscription to BFI, cancellable within 14 days, though if this is typical of their offering it sure beats Netflix!
