Nothing much has been heard of it since the original announcement. Any movie buffs out there with any info on what happened to it?

Cheers.

I'm not a movie buff, but I know a little about the subject matter. As far as I can see the film has not been completed and/or released.

Thanks. I'm trying to discover if it was even started. It doesn't look like it from what I've found so far.

Yes, sunk/fallen without trace. regards, dspp

The most detail I can find is here https://www.screendaily.com/news/michae ... 42.article then very little after 2015.

Director James McEachen and producers Wind Fish Motion Pictures, and Juliusz Kossakowski, don't seem to have done very much recently:

My guess would be that it is either:

1) Stuck in "Development Hell". This is quite common; all to often there are various reasons why production has not started. For example, money, "creative differences", actors being unavailable, legal issues, technical problems, etc. Many films are stuck in development hell for years. A good example is "Alita: Battle Angel", which appeared in the cinemas a mere 16 years after being announced.

2) Has been cancelled (another version of Development Hell) but the people involved don't want to announce it for some reason.

One film that I've been waiting to see for some 26 years since it was first announced is "The Forever War", based on Joe Haldeman's book of the same name. Periodically a new name is attached to the project, then nothing is heard of for a year or two. Ridley Scott has been making it since 2008, and was due to start on it after making "Robin Hood" with Russell Crowe according to this article in The Guardian.

Thanks, I learn something new every day. It is one of the few remaining real paper books on my bookshelves. I'd rather it was a single long film than a franchise mind you, which I somewhat fear reading those links.

If only there were a way to use time dilation to make the wait seem shorter.

And which should have been left there! It was dreadful.
