Rupert Murdoch

Anyone watching on BBC the RM dynasty and his apparent influence on our Prime Ministers seemingly as far back as Maggie Thatcher. 3 Episodes, 2 on iPlayer so far. Fascinating stuff. 4 Marriages, 6 children, latest marriage I think in 2016 to Jerry Hall. What does she see in an 85 year old wrinkled prune...ahem....billions, although all the other kids are fighting over who is going to get what and when.....splash it all over Henry.

I've always wondered that too? Although, as my local farmer's wife drily observed: "Maybe he's got something special in his trousers?"

Then again, they do say that money is the best aphrodisiac in the world. Or at least, it makes the rest bearable. As Melania Trump would presumably concur?

What was it that attracted you to the billionaire Rupert Murdoch.......

MM

PS - I would recommend the TV series Succession if you like a story about a media mogul and his disfunctional family

What riveting TV and what a loathsome set of people (press & politicians combined). If these people run the world then let me off, I've had enough.

I thought the Charlotte Church interview in the first episode was pretty breathtaking and brought a few things home!

Also, is it just me that finds it too much of a coincidence that the final episode - setting out the estrangement of James from the firm - is broadcast at the start of the week and then by Friday, he is off the board??! :o

I think that the apparent influence of Murdoch on politicians is more that he sees which way the wind is blowing and then backs that point of view.

Jerry is 64 years old and has a track record of marrying older men (Jagger in 1990/ ended 1999).
As long as she's happy being married to Murdoch good luck to her.
